Meet Dr. Rena Hamzey

Dr. Rena Hamzey grew up in Richmond, Virginia before earning her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She briefly moved to Baltimore where she worked on obesity prevention and public health research at Johns Hopkins University. She went on to complete a one-year post-baccalaureate program through Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, where she continued her studies to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. She then returned to Virginia where she worked in private practice for several years before making the move to the west coast.
Dr. Hamzey enjoys staying current on new innovations in dental care and regularly enrolls in continuing education courses. She is fascinated by the extent in which oral health can be linked to one’s overall health and well-being. When treating patients, her main concern is their comfort and ensuring they understand the value and importance of good oral health.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hamzey enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, and trying new restaurants. She loves spending time outdoors and hopes to one day visit all the national parks. She currently lives in Seattle with her partner and two cats.
