CROWN LENGTHENING IN EVERETT

Why Crown Lengthening May Be Needed

Crown lengthening is a procedure that reshapes the gum and supporting bone to expose more of your tooth’s surface. It may be recommended for both cosmetic and restorative reasons.

At Icon Dental Center, we ensure this procedure is done with precision and care, tailored to your needs.

Crown lengthening Procedure

What to Expect During the Procedure

Crown lengthening is typically performed under local anesthesia, and in many cases, only a small area needs to be treated. If bone contouring is needed along with gum reshaping, our dentists will walk you through what to expect.

Here’s how the procedure typically goes:

We’ll check in on your healing progress to ensure everything goes smoothly..

Crown lengthening is a periodontal procedure, so it’s carried out by our in-house periodontist, Dr. Betsy Mosquera, who has over 20 years of experience in periodontal surgery.

Pain & Concerns

Does Crown Lengthening Hurt?

This is one of the most common questions we hear — and the answer is: most patients report only mild soreness afterward.

Thanks to modern techniques and numbing agents, the procedure itself is virtually painless. Any discomfort afterward can typically be managed with over-the-counter pain relief and proper care.

Restorative & Cosmetic Procedures

Crown Lengthening for Restorative or Cosmetic Purposes

Some patients need crown lengthening to support a filling or crown that can’t properly attach without more visible tooth structure. Others choose this procedure for cosmetic reasons — to improve smile symmetry or reduce a “gummy” appearance.

Whatever your reason, we’ll explain every step so you can make an informed decision. Our Everett dental office is equipped to handle your treatment comfortably and efficiently.

Absolutely hands down the best dentist I’ve been to very quick and thorough! The assistant was absolutely amazing! As the dentist was giving my numbing shot she was right next to me the whole time rubbing my arm to comfort me! It honestly made the experience that much better! The dentist talked through step by step what she was doing in my mouth and what I’d feel so there was no surprises! Absolutely so grateful I’ve encountered such an amazing team!
